2. History

Malaysia Airlines was founded in 1st of May 1947 and started operations in 1st October 1972. Initially the airline was named as the Malayan Airways Limited and company was headquartered in Singapore. The airline got re-branded into Malaysian Airways in 1963 with the formation of the Malaysian Federation. Malaysia Airlines is currently headquartered in Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sepang, Malaysia.
