1. What is Air China?

Air China is the People Republic of China's flag carrier and of the three major airlines in China. Air China is the China's largest passenger Airliner which has transported passengers domestically and internationally.

Air China operates domestic and international flights with 414 fleet of aircraft majorly manufactured by Boeing and the rest is by Airbus. Air China flies to 201 destinations globally in wide range of countries by carrying cargo and passengers.

Air China operates from main hubs in Beijing and Chengdu International airports by keeping the Shanghai Pudong International Airport as the secondary hub of Air China. Air China is partner airline of the Star Alliance program.

2. History

Air China was founded in 1st July 1988 as a result of Chinese government's decision to decentralize the Civil Aviation Administration of China which is also known as CAAC. With the decentralization, CAAC was separated into three entities which are named as Air China, China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines which manages different parts of China and international flights.

53.46% of Air China is owns by the Air China Group which is a state own company and Air China is currently traded publicly on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and London Stock Exchange. Air China is currently headquartered in Beijing, China.
