Adidas was founded by Adolf Adi Dassler and the initial business to was of the company to manufacture shoes. Adidas's initial name was Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory and the company was using the name till 1949.

Adidas is currently traded publicly on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and currently headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
