2. History

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles were formed in a merger of two organizations which was Fiat and Chrysler. The merger began when Chrysler filed a bankruptcy in 30th April 2009 after the getting fined for emission cheating and violation. Fiat initially purchased 20% of Chrysler in 10th June 2009. By 2012 Fiat increased the share holding stake of Chrysler to 58.5% and on 21st of January 2014, Fiat acquired the remaining portion of shares of Chrysler.

After the board approvals from the Fiat's board of directors and shareholders, Fiat merged with the Chrysler and formed the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles traded on Publicly on Milan Stock Exchange, New York Stock Exchange and currently headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands as the legal office and London, United Kingdom for taxation purposes.
