1. What is Uber?

Uber is the world's most popular ride hailing or a taxi finding app which does not own any vehicles. Uber is used by individuals and corporate companies who wants to overcome the traditional high cost taxi services and private vehicle services.

Uber does have Uber Eats, Jump Bikes and Otto as their subsidiaries. Uber services different customer ranges by flexing the transportation services including luxury cars to country specific vehicles which are cost efficient for the user and which also does have huge customer interests.

2. History

Uber is founded by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp in March 2009. The initial name of the Uber was UberCab. Camp and Travis sold their first startup which named as Red Swoosh for US$ 19 million in 2007.

The idea for Uber came to camp by encountering with an incident where Camp and his friend had to spend US$ 800 to hire a private driver on a new year eve. Camp wanted to bring down the cost of transportation to everybody in the world by making transportation more affordable to public.

Uber launched their beta release on May 2010 and made the Uber services available in San Francisco in 2011. Uber is currently headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA. Uber is seeking to go public in near future.
