Mastercard is an electronic payment and fund processing company based in USA which operates in almost each and every country in the world and region. Mastercard plays a role of a global platform where the stakeholders can benefit from it's features starting from the payment making to payment receiving securely.

Mastercard was initially named as Interbank and Master Charge from 1966 to 1979. Mastercard was created to compete with VISA Inc's platform and to demolish the monopoly market at the time.

Mastercard does offer multiple products including Mastercard Credit Card, Mastercard Debit Card and Mastercard payment platforms to the different layers of stake holders.

Mastercard is traded publicly on New York Stock Exchange under the class A code of MA. and currently headquartered in New York, USA.
