After the iOS 7 version release to the iOS operating system platform, Apple announced iOS 8 which is the newest operating system for mobile devices after iOS 7. Announcing of iOS 8 happened on 2nd June 2014.

1. What is iOS 8?

After announcing the iOS 8 on 2nd of June 2014 at the Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference also known as WWDC event, and the iOS 8 was released on 17th September 2014 along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices.

Apple dropped support to iPhone 4 with the iOS 8 release version and marked iPad 2, iPhone 4S and iPod Touch 5th generation under limited support due to receiving large number of complaints for slow performance.

2. Features of iOS 8

iOS 8 carried improvements to the core operating system and to bug fixes. After the initial release there were 10 update releases to the iOS 8 operating system.
