1. What is Airbnb?

Airbnb is the world's largest web platform which enables it's users to list accommodation places including home stay or hotel type rooms and to find accommodation places which are listed by the other user who uses the Airbnb.

In major Airbnb caters two types of users in majorly which are the accommodation providers and the users who wants to find accommodation places.

2. History

Airbnb was initially founded by Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia in August 2008. The idea for Airbnb was came to both of them after moving into San Francisco in October 2008 and they wasn't able to afford an apartment in San Francisco wholly. They put an air mattress in their living room and rented out on daily basis kind of a plan to earn more cash to cover up the cost for the apartment.

And the working on renting the apartment living room named as Air Bed and Breakfast which was a great thing for people who travel to San Francisco with low budget or who don't want to spend more money.

With the help of Chesky's roommate who was Nathan Blecharczyk, three of them setup a website which people can reserve and pay for their amounts. Due to the help made by Nathan, he also became a co-founder of Airbnb and the chief technology officer of Airbnb. The idea was a killer and grew faster in USA and the founder's named Air Bed and Breakfast to Airbnb to make it shorter and easy for people to understand.

Airbnb started global expansion rapidly and currently operates as a private company and currently headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA.
